Hiking – South Mesa TH - Boulder Skyline Traverse

5 peaks, 6,000', 17 miles, 9+ hours with shuttle logistics. Starting from South Mesa Trailhead, summit S. Bldr Peak, Bear Peak, Green Mtn, Flagstaff Mtn and Sanitas then descending to the Goat Trailhead.

This is a full day at a good pace.  The goal is to complete the hike in 8.5 hours + shuttle logistics.  Bring 4 liters of water as refill options do not occur until close to the end of the hike at hour 6.  Boulder Skyline Traverse https://caltopo.com/m/70SKF

We will start at the South Mesa Trailhead which is on the way to Eldorado Springs, take the South Mesa Trail to take in the views of the sun rising on the Flatirons, then via Shadow Canyon ascend to S Bldr and Bear Peaks.  We will descend Bear Peak via the West Ridge then take the  Green Bear Trail to summit Green Mountain.  From there we will take the Ranger Trail and cross over to Flagstaff Mtn at Realization Point.  After 'summitting' Flag, we will then make our way to Red Rocks and then onto our final summit via the Santas Trail.  We then descend via the Goat Trail and at the trailhead take an Uber/Lyft back to our cars at South Mesa.

10 essentials, 4 liters water, filter optional, but do not count on water sources on the trail.  There is public water at mile 12, before Red Rocks and final ascent of Sanitas - Bring lots of water.
