Hiking – Seven Utes Mountain

This is a LIT (Leader in Training" trip for Tucker Post however the trip is open to all members. The hike takes in the summit of Seven Utes Mountain and peak 11,188 in the Never Summer Mountains. The route is mostly on-trail with some off-trail hiking above treeline at the summits.

Meeting location & time: Pringles Fine Wines & Spirits parking lot at the corner of Taft and Drake in Fort Collins. Meet at 6:50 am and depart at 7 am. Estimated time of arrival at Seven Utes trailhead and the start of the hike is 9:30AM. We will stop at one of the bathrooms at Cameron Pass on the way. 

Rideshare/carpool: We will plan on consolidating into two cars for carpool. Be prepared to reimburse drivers via Vemo or Paypal. Rideshare will be $10 each for four people in a car. Please note that weather in the Never Summer Mountain range can be tricky in November and we could encounter snow, especially since we will be above 11,000 feet and treeline. You will need some experience with using spikes and/or snowshoes in case we see snow, i,e. either own the gear or borrrow/rent it if we find it is needed.

In addition to the ten essentials and moose repellent you may need Spikes and snowshoes if we get snow. Ski goggles can also be a handy item if wind and snow are blowing hard. The trip leaders will be watching the weather an will email the group if these items are needed.
