Hiking – Sandstone Ranch Open Space

The Juniper Valley Loop at Sandstone Ranch has wonderful views of the ranch and adjacent Pike National Forest. The trail goes gently up and down through a diverse landscape of juniper stands, red rock formations and sloping meadows.

Meeting Time and Place

Meet:  Cabela’ s Parking Lot: 10670 Cabela Drive, Lone Tree, CO 80124. Park in the section ( west side) before you reach the front of the store. Arrive by 8:50 am for departure at 9:00 am.

Carpool info:  rt mileage is 52 miles @ 30 cents per mile is $15.60 per car to be divided by all occupants of the car.  Be prepared to wear a mask in the car if carpooling.

Address:  Sandstone Ranch Trailhead is at 9605 South Perry Park Road, Larkspur, CO 80118.

Directions:  From Cabela’s, travel south on I 25 to Larkspur exit  173.  Continue on Spruce Mountain Road until you reach the stop sign in Larkspur, where you turn right onto Perry Park Ave.  At the end of the road, turn left onto South Perry Park Road (Highway 105). The Sandstone Ranch Traihead is .6 miles from the intersection and is on the right (west) side of the highway. Follow the gravel drive to parking lot approx. 1/3 mile.
