Trip
Hiking – Roxborough State Park - Powerline Trail
We will cross into the quiet and scenic valley of County Rd 5, where few hikers go; it is also closed to cars. From there we will visit an interesting and well-preserved pioneer's cabin and enter the National Forest, hike off-trail to join Indian Creek Trail (Trail 800), rejoin CR 5 and follow it back to the Visitor Center; plenty of striking rock formations on the way there.

We will meet at 8:00 a.m. in the parking lot of the Roxborough Safeway, 8355 N Rampart Range Rd, Littleton, CO 80125. Let's congregate near the southeast corner of the Safeway, between it and the building that houses ReMax, Great Clips, etc. From there, we will carpool to Roxborough State Park. The daily vehicle pass for the park is $10, unless you have an annual pass.
If there is too much snow to hike cross-country in the National Forest, I will change the itinerary to go over Carpenter Peak and down Powerline Trail to CR5. This will be very scenic too.
