Hiking – Rosedale Peak
Trailblazers hike! Trailblazers is the CMC's section for aged 20-40's folks. Enjoy a good climb and big views at the top with this hike that leads to a saddle, after which we do about a half mile off trail, crossing a boulder field, to the summit of Rosedale at 11.8K feet. This is not a big peak, but offers views like one.

This hike is intended for Trailblazers members firstly. The Trailblazers is CMC's group for aged 21-40 folks. Read more about it here.
This hike is mostly on trail and passes through some awesome aspen groves as it climbs and climbs, eventually hitting the Cub Creek Trail, which switchbacks to the west through a mix of pine forest and rocky areas, eventually reaching a saddle with expansive views of Mt Blue Sky. From the saddle, we go off trail, route finding through forest, tundra, and a boulder field, to reach the summit of Rosedale Peak. This 11.8K foot summit may not be high, but has wide views in all directions, making for a great stopping point for a break and photos.
At 10 miles and almost 3000 feet of gain, this is not an easy hike, so please know your abilities and be considerate of the group when you sign up. I would like to maintain a moderate+ pace on this hike, 2 mph average, so if you've been hiking up mountains all summer you should be good to go!
