Hiking – RMNP - Glacier Gorge TH - Sky Pond
We'll start at the Glacier Gorge TH in RMNP. An email will be sent out to the participant roster, and we can coordinate a carpool from there. Plan to bring snowshoes, micro-spikes, snow gaiters, insulated water bottle/bladder, water-proof boots/trail runners, poles (if you use them), winter gear, and wind layers. We will maintain a moderate pace and keep things moving to prevent excessive cool down along the way. Consider bringing hand-/foot-warmers and/or goggles, if the weather forecast dictates.

We'll plan to meet at the Glacier Gorge TH at 6:45 and ready to start the hike by 7 am. We'll plan to coordinate a carpool location, depending on where most roster participants live. A National Parks Pass is required for all vehicles entering the park. The Glacier Gorge TH is located along Bear Lake Road. This parking lot can fill quickly with backcountry skiers and other hiking groups, but 7 am should be fine.
