Welcome to Rise & Grind, the CMC Boulder Group’s morning hiking and coffee series.  Our objective is to start our day off right with some exercise, good company and maybe a little mindfulness too.  In addition to the hike itself, we’ll take a moment to pause on the summit, reflect on our intentions for the day and perhaps do some breathing exercises.  Afterward there will be an optional stop for coffee, symbolizing a fresh start and the energy needed to conquer the day.

PLEASE NOTE, due to weather we have changed the location of this hike to Woods Quarry starting from the Chautauqua Trailhead.  The route will ascend approximately 643 feet over 2.5 miles round trip.  The trip should take less than two hours, but allow for up to three.

As of Monday 11/4, the forecast is calling for snow beginning Tuesday night, with accumulations of 1 to 3 inches.  The trip is still a GO, but please be mindful of road conditions and cancel if you feel the drive to the trailhead would be unsafe for you.

Please note, while this will be a easy/moderate hike, it is not designed to be a beginner trip.  This will be a before-work hike for some participants, so it’s important that we maintain our pace and finish promptly so folks can get to work on time.  Please know your own abilities and be considerate of the rest of the group when you sign up.
