Hiking – Reynolds Park

RMOTHG --Hike in a beautiful Jefferson County Open Space. From the Eagle's View Trail, there is a wonderful view south to Pike's Peak.

Meet at 8:00 a.m. for 8:10 a.m. departure at Wadsworth/ Hampden P&R (3599 S Wadsworth).

For carpooling, RT distance is 50 mi. or $17 per vehicle, divided by the number of people in the car. Rounded to $4 for 4 people. Bring small bills to pay your driver.

TH  is Reynolds Ranch Park at 13649 S Foxton Rd., Conifer. If you prefer to meet the group at the trailhead at 8:30 a.m., please let leader know 303 877 9072 (text) or dey@gmx.com (email).

Vault toilet is available at parking lot TH.

Our route includes the Elkhorn Loop to Oxen Draw, followed by Raven's Roost to Eagle's View with its spectacular views. On our return, we will complete the loop on Eagle's View to Oxen  Draw. Then, Elkhorn Loop to the Owl Prowl shortcut. 

On the Oxen Draw trail, a narrow, small stream crosses the trail in several places. Our feet will stay dry using strategically placed rocks to cross. Poles can be helpful here.

We will have a lunch break along the Eagle's View Trail.

The first half of the hike is in partial shade through a wooded area. Parts of the Eagle's View Trail are in full sun.

Poles are helpful crossing narrow creeks and coming down steep sections of Eagle's View Trail, where trail surface is dirt with tree roots.
