Hiking – Red Rock Canyon Open Space
Starting on the east side we will go up a ridge full of fossils and connect with the Section 16 Trail. We’ll amble through the less busy and stunning upper reaches of the park, breaking at a high point. Descent will take us through the historic quarry.

We'll meet at 8:30 for an 8:40 start. Meet at the smaller, east parking lot off of 26th Street. Rudy's Barbecue is at 26th and US 24 for reference. This is NOT the main entrance for Red Rocks.
There is a portajohn at the trailhead but no facilities along the route. We should expect to meet bikers and horse back riders on portions of the trail. Conditions may be icy and/or muddy along portions of the route.
