Hiking – Red Mountain Open Space Loop

Trip

Hiking – Red Mountain Open Space Loop

One hike, two states, and three natural areas. This is an on-trail loop hike through the colorful rock formations of the Red Mountain Open Space (Larimer County); ascending to the vistas from the Cheyenne Rim in the Big Hole Open Space (City of Cheyenne, WY); and then returning via the Rim Trail briefly crossing through the Soapstone Prairie Natural Area (City of Fort Collins). The trails are a mix of multi-use single track, double track, and sandy washes with mostly gentle grades.
