A casual-paced 8.5-mile loop hike in a Black Forest open space in the winter/spring. Expect slippery trail conditions in places (mud/ice/slush). Easy terrain but no "bail outs" on this 8.5-mile loop trail.

We will meet at 8:00am at the trailhead at 13201 Vollmer Road, Colorado Springs, CO
(.6 miles north of the intersection of Volmer and Shoup)

This will be a casually-paced winter/spring hike with variable snow conditions. Could be slippery in spots. We will have a casual pace, but it is 8.5-mile loop with no bail out options. Monitor the weather. Be ready for a long hike in cold :)
Well behaved pets on leash welcome. Leash required per open space rules. Owners must remove excrement. Please be sure your pet can make the distance.
We will travel as a group while observing the 7 principles of Leave No Trace, especially:
-Travel and camp on durable surfaces.
-Dispose of waste properly (pack it in - pack it out)
-Leave what you find
-Respect wildlife
-Be considerate of other visitors
