Casual-pace 5-mile "winter" loop hike in Black Forest around the Cathedral Pines neighborhood to get ready for the new year! Have your winter traction ready (just in case)

We will meet at 8:00am at the Cathedral Pines Trail Head (west of intersection of Vessey Rd and Holmes Road). 

  • Turn left on Vessey Rd into Cathedral Pines (there will be a large stone sign saying Cathedral Pines).
  • Take an immediate left into a crushed blacktop parking area.

This will be a winter hike/snowshoe depending on snow conditions. We will have a casual pace - but it may be slippery in spots.

No pets.

No water or restroom facilities on this hike.

We will travel as a group while observing the 7 principles of Leave No Trace :

  • Plan ahead and prepare.
  • Travel and camp on durable surfaces.
  • Dispose of waste properly.
  • Leave what you find.
  • Minimize campfire impacts (be careful with fire).
  • Respect wildlife.
