Hiking – Ouray's Silvershield Trail to the West Gold Hill Dinosaur Tracksite -- Group #1

We'll carpool to the Silvershield trailhead in Ouray. Group #1 will start hiking at 10:30am. Meeting times and places for carpooling is TBD.

Did you know that the longest documented dinosaur track site is right above Ouray?! Let's hike up the Silvershield Trail and check it out. The property was recently purchased by the Forest Service to preserve this site. There's also beautiful views of Ouray and the San Juans on this trail. The first mile of the trail is steep. The 2nd mile is still uphill, but not quite as steep. After the hike, join us in Ridgway at the Great White Buffalo Bar from 3-5pm for a Western Slope Group social gathering!
