We will meet at the Conifer Staples at 6:00am.
From the TH we will hike to Shelf Lake, then proceed up the steep slope to Decatur Mountain (12,890'). Following that the group will head SW over easier terrain to summit Revenue Mountain (12,889'), then more westerly to Silver Mountain (12,849'). We will then hike back east to the Revenue/Silver saddle for the descent down a nasty scree slope to an old jeep road. If all goes well we will follow the jeep road back to the TH.
There will be no opportunity to stop short and turn back to the TH. This will be a challenging loop-hike at a consistent moderate pace. This is not for the inexperienced off-trail hiker. All day at altitude may be a complication for this trip.
The hike may take up to seven hours, plus the one hour drive each way. Plan on a minimum of a nine hour day for this adventure.
