Meet at the American Mountaineering Center before 5:30am so we can form carpools and leave no later than 5:300am. Here is a Google Maps link to the meeting place: https://maps.app.goo.gl/SLAymkL2mSnuxfBu6
The trailhead is where Trail Ridge Road crosses Milner Pass. Parking is very limited so it is especially important that we minimize the number of carpools by carpooling. Here is a Google Maps link to the trailhead: https://maps.app.goo.gl/2os9z32Sz2u5otTT7
This hike is on an established trail, mostly above timberline along the Continental Divide from Milner Pass. The 360 degree views of Rocky Mountain National Park are spectacular on this hike.
Here is a link to this hike in AllTrails: https://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/us/colorado/mount-ida-trail
We will also be making a side-trip out to Jagor Point on Mt Ida's northeast ridge for some more great sweeping views. https://www.alltrails.com/explore/recording/mount-ida-trail-fdbd31f
Required Equipment
Bring good shoes, have good sun and wind protection due to this trip mostly being above timberline on the Continental Divide, 2 – 3 liters of water, and if you use hiking sticks, bring them.
