Hiking – Mount Sniktau

Mount Sniktau is just off Loveland Pass and the hike will be entirely above treeline. There should be wonderful 360 degree views of Grizzly and Torreys to the south and Trelease, Bethel, Woods, and Parnassus to the north across I-70.

The starting elevation is 12,00 feet and Mount Sniktau is 13,218 with a couple of false summits along the way.  This will be an early season high altitude hike.  The first 1/2 mile is extremely steep and you are at altitude.  If you are not confortable with your conditioning you may not want to sigh up for this hike.

Meet at Wooly Mammoth Park & Ride section MM at 7:00 to car pool leaving no later than 7:15 am.  We will stop at the Georgetown Visitor Center for a rest stop.  The carpool driver will be reimbursed at .36 X 95 miles, $34 divided among all those in the car including the driver.
