The first 2.7 miles of the trail follow the Continental Divide Trail up to the saddle at Hope Pass. At the saddle, turn west to begin the ascent up the ridge. While there is no maintained trail to the summit, there is a clear trail path that stays to the left / south side of the ridge as you ascend towards the summit. At roughly 3.3 miles (at roughly 13,000 feet) you'll reach the crux of the hike, a roughly 300 foot section of jumbled rock. Pick your preferred gully to ascend around the outcroppings of rock ideally to the left / south of the ridge. The final stretch of the hike is an easy 0.1 mile walk to the summit.
