We’ll meet at 6:15 am and by 6:30 am we will start toward the paved multi-use Clear Creek Trail on the north side of the creek. We’ll continue on the paved Magpie Gulch Trail that goes north to the pedestrian bridge over Hwy 58, through the New Loveland Mine Park that has a port-a-toilet, over Hwy 93 on the pedestrian bridge, north on the short Mountain Ridge Trail to Ohio Street, and west to Canyon Point Circle to enter Mount Galbraith Park at the Nightbird Gulch neighborhood access trailhead. Nightbird Gulch Trail, 1.7 miles each way, is rough with many rock steps and has a small section of encroaching poison ivy. We’ll hike the rocky 1.6 mile Mount Galbraith Loop Trail clockwise, will stay on the current designated park trails, and will retrace our route back to the start. Bring the 10 essentials, wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy closed-toe hiking footwear with good traction. Please leave dogs at home for this hike. Bikes are not allowed in Mount Galbraith Park. We will closely monitor the ever-changing weather forecast in advance of the hike.
