Hiking – Metzler Family Open Space
With gorgeous sweeping views, plentiful wildlife and beautiful wildflowers and vegetation, the land along Founders Parkway and Crowfoot Valley Road is truly a treasure. The single-track unpaved trail system is divided into loops and connectors named for Metzler family members or other relevant features of the property.

Meet at 9:00 a.m. the trailhead located at 838 E. Allen Street, Castle Rock, CO 80104. The parking lot is paved and has a port-a-potty.

Directions from I-25:
1. Take the Founders Parkway/Meadows Parkway exit, Exit 184.
2. Turn east at the ramp and follow Founders Parkway for 1.5 miles.
3. Turn left onto East Allen Street. The trailhead parking lot will be on the northeast side (right side) of the intersection.
The trails are gently rolling for the most part, but there is one section that is steeper and rocky. You may want to bring hiking poles for this section.
