Loop hike around Little Scraggy Peak in the Buffalo Creek Recreation Area. Varied route on open trail, shady forest, and expansive views of the Hayman Fire burn scar, Thunder Butte, and several 14ers.

This is exploratory for your Trip Leader so you are encouraged to participate with route finding. The route should be pretty straightforward and our gpx mapping apps will help us stay on track. Various reports show that the route could be a mile or so longer than the anticipated 12.2 miles.

The hike should take us about 5 hrs so plan on getting back to the TH around 2:30-3:00pm. Weather forecast and additional details will be emailed a few days beforehand.
