Breaking off the beaten path, the route veers into open forest and granite-strewn slopes, where a vigorous clamber leads upward through weathered boulders and windswept ridges. As we ascend, the landscape stretches wide, revealing panoramic vistas of the South Platte Range and the rugged expanse of the Lost Creek Wilderness, each turn more breathtaking than the last.
