Hiking – Liberty Cap
According to the CO National Monument website, the Liberty Cap Trail ascends steeply for 2 miles from the Grand Valley floor to the Liberty Cap rock sculpture. And, the Corkscrew Trail loop was originally built by John Otto in 1909.

We will hike up the Liberty Cap Trail a little more to have a total trip mileage of approximately 6 miles. Plan on a 3-4 hour hike.
Please note that the TH is about a 5 hour drive from the Denver area.

Meet at the Wildwood Drive TH at 9:30am.
From Grand Junction, head NW on highway 340 towards the CO National Monument. Turn left on South Broadway. After ~1/2 mile, turn left on Wildwood Drive. After ~1/2 mile, watch closely for a brown trailhead sign on the right at what appears to be driveway; turn down this road to the trailhead.
Carpools will be arranged from Montrose area participants.
