7/20/2024. Pueblo participants will meet at 4:30 am in the Southeast corner of the Albertson's parking lot at 1601 W. Highway 50, Pueblo, CO 81008. Colorado Springs participants will meet at Badger Basin gas station at 12551 US-24, Hartsel, CO 80449 at
6:00 am. There is a suitable lot to leave vehicles just to the east. From there we will carpool or caravan to the trail head on Park County 655 (Lat/Lon 39.28959, -106.02216). Parking at the trailhead is very limited, so we will need to consolidate cars as much as possible. The hike begins at the trailhead.

We'll climb the South Ridge beginning at an old 4wd road on CR 655 at approximate Lat/Lon 39.28959, -106.02216).  Roach calls this the easiest route to the summit (Class 1), at about  9 RT miles and 3210 feet.  Much of the route is without tree cover, so sun protection will be important and we'll need to keep a close eye on the weather.  Some route finding is required.

Leader’s permission is required for this hike.  If the hike is at capacity preference will be given to El Pueblo and Pikes Peak members
