Hiking – Fox Run Regional Park
We will observe various types of Culturally Modified Trees in Fox Run Park. Leader will also have some specimens to review and learn about dendrochronology (determine the age of the tree).

We will meet at Fox Run Park located at 2110 Stella Dr, CSpgs at 9:30am. From I-25 take the Baptist Rd exit 158 and go east 4 mi's and turn right on Roller Coaster Rd, go past the first and second entrances to Fox Run Park to Stella Dr after approximately 2 mi's, turn right onto Stella. From Stella turn right into the park, at the stop sign turn left then straight, turn right towards Spruce & Aspen Lakes, park on the right at Aspen Lakes, there's a restroom. https://goo.gl/maps/Wh4SxCFRU6QgVPwN7
There will be a Carpool from Denver from the Southmoor Station P&R, 3737 S. Monaco St. Linda Jagger will be in a white Subaru w/ roof rack in the NE corner closest to Monaco. Depending upon the weather conditions there may be a need for some traction for ice. The leader will communicate weather conditions before the hike. I will have some CMT wood specimens for viewing used to determine the age of a tree, through dendrochronology and analysis of the tree. Trees have been cut with permission.
This is a dog friendly hike for well behaved dogs. They must be kept on a leash at all times.
Required Equipment
Dress for the weather. Have water, snacks and possibly ice traction.
