There is a $10 per person entrance fee to the park and it does not accept cash payments so bring plastic. Trails could be icy or snowpacked in spots. Trails are gentle but this is at 8500 feet in elevation.

This area is one of the richest and most diverse fossil deposits in the world. Petrified redwood stumps up to 14 feet wide and thousands of detailed fossils of insects and plants reveal the story of prehistoric Colorado. Easy trails meander through and around this park, located at 8500 feet elevation in Teller County, CO
