Hiking – RMNP - Estes Cone

This is an exploratory trip. I've never been all the way to the top. Join me on a great hike through the forest that finishes with a short scramble at the top. The views of Longs Peak should be great if it is clear.

  • Mileage: 8.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,200 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 11,000 ft

Let's meet at 8 am at the trailhead. Depending on snow/wind conditions we may choose the Longs Peak TH instead of Lilly Lake. It is shorter and less elevation gain. A detailed email will be sent to the group days in advance.

There is some scrambling required at the top so be prepared for that. Bring all your winter clothing gear and microspikes. We should be protected in the forest for most of the hike but the summit could be very windy.
