Hiking – Devil's Backbone Open Space
This will be a key exchange hike between Devils Backbone trailhead and Blue Sky trailhead. The hike will be a coordination between Estes TrailTrekkers and NOCO CMC. All who sign up will be allowed to go on the hike, including those on the waitlist. I am in need of a second trip lead for this trip. Since this trip is planned as a key exchange hike, I need a second leader to guide the group starting from either the Devils Backbone or Blue Sky TH's. I can lead one group from either. If interested, please let me know and I'll get you on the roster.

The hike will involve 2 groups. One group starting at Devils Backbone trailhead and hike north terminating at Blue Sky trailhead. The second group will begin the hike at Blue Sky trailhead head south terminating at Devils Garden trailhead. Both groups will meet in between at the junction with Indian Summer trail. Both groups will hike Indian Summer Loop trail together and break for lunch stop and exchange car keys at a high point along Indian Summer trail. Once we complete the Indian Summer Trail Loop, each group will continue to their destinations and everyone will get to hike the entire length of the hike. After the hike we will meet up at a location to return car keys.
Since this hike will involve 2 separate groups, I will need a second trip leader to lead the second group. If interested, please let me know.
If anyone has any questions or needs additional information, please contact me at trout.bill@gmail.com or call/text me at 970-222-3398.
We will have 2 meet up locations; Devils Backbone trailhead and Blue Sky trailhead. If you have a preference, please let me know and I will try to accommodate, but no promises since we will need 2 similar sized groups. I would like meet at 7:45am and begin the hike promptly at 8:00am. Vehicles will need a Larimer County Parks pass to park at the trailheads. If you don't have one, daily pass can be purchased at trailhead.
I am in need of a second trip lead for this hike. If interested, please let me know.
Required Equipment
The weather this time of year can be varied, so plan accordingly. Bring plenty of water since there is no water along the hike. Trekking poles will be helpful, but not necessary.
