Hiking – Crested Butte-Green Lake/Ruby Range, dog friendly

This hike follows a cross-country, off-trail route to Green Lake, just below Ruby Peak (12,644). This route is used due to a landowner dispute with the Forest Service that has closed an access road. There should be flowers and perhaps a waterfall or two. Water shoes and poles are recommended in case we arrive at a wet crossing. Well-behaved, leashed dogs, capable of a hike of this type, are welcome.

6.8 miles, 1700' elev. gain

Meet at the Crested Butte Visitors Center 7am; look for the Gecko Green Jeep Rubicon with a Golden Retriever, or coordinate with the leader for an alternate meeting place.
