On Tuesday, we'll hike along the Purgatoire to the dinosaur tracks, 12 miles roundtrip but not much elevation gain. Many petroglyphs along the way. Wednesday, packing up and possibly visiting Bents Old Fort, Amache or Sand Creek.

On Monday, we'll carpooling to La Junta City Park (at 10th and Colorado) at noon, eat lunch and drive together to Vogel  Canyon. From Denver to La Junta is between 3 and 4 hours; from La Junta to Vogel Canyon is about 40 minutes.

Bring 3 lunches, 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts; also hiking snacks. Most important: Bring lots of water for 3 days:: There is NO water available. Think of washing, cooking, DRINKING.

We'll have to cross the Purgatoire which may or may not have water. Water shoes and poles might be recommended.

Also: The Vogel canyon picnic area has primitive toilets and large tables with a roof. We might use just one table and set up camp around it.
