Leave from Wooly Mammoth Ride Share lot Section HH 7:00 pm. Driving distance is 84 mi RT = $25 shared by carpool occupants.

A great chance to see the Perseid meteor shower near its broad peak from the open sky of a mountain peak (weather permitting – we would like a forecast of “Partly cloudy” or better, but “Mostly cloudy” might work). The peak is on 8/12. The quarter moon will set about 10:50pm, so it will not interfere with seeing fainter meteors after then. We’ll start from the Berthoud Pass parking lot and hike up the road to the summit, stopping frequently on the way up and down to view the meteors. We'll plan to get back to the trailhead by 1am, and back to Wooly by 2am. Leader - Norm Arlt, 303-437-3968
