Leave from Wooly Mammoth Ride Share lot Section HH 7:00 pm. Driving distance is 84 mi RT.

A great chance to see the peak of the Perseid meteor shower from the open sky of a mountain peak (weather permitting – we would like a forecast of “Partly cloudy” or better, but “Mostly cloudy” might work). The nearly new moon will rise about 3:10am, so it will not interfere with seeing fainter meteors before or after then. We’ll start from the Berthoud Pass parking lot and hike up the road to the summit, stopping frequently on the way up and down to view the meteors. We'll plan to get back to the trailhead by 1am, and back to Wooly by 2am.
Each participant is expected to carry all 10+ Essentials.
I like to keep the whole group within yelling distance pretty much all the time, so if you are a free-spirited wanderer, this may not be the trip for you.
