Hiking – Boulder Open Space

BSG - Bear Peak, South Boulder Peak and Green Mountain Loop 13 Miles, 4,800'. This is the core of the Skyline Traverse which will be scheduled in November. This will be a full 8+ hour day at a reasonable pace.

7:00am, NCAR parking lot, last row in SE corner.  

You should have prior, recent experience and conditioning for the distance and vertical gain.

Please familiarize yourself with the route: https://caltopo.com/m/KE2S0 and as always, bring your own maps.

We will depart NCAR lot to SE via NCAR Bear Canyon trail > Mesa Trail > Fern Canyon Trail, then up the ridge line to Bear Peak, then Bear Peak Tr to S Bldr peak, take a BREAK, then back to Bear Peak and take the West Ridge trail to Green Bear Trail, take a BREAK, then onto summit of Green for LUNCH.  Descend Green* via EM Greenman > Saddle Rock > Amphitheater, BREAK at Gregory Canyon parking (heads there) then return to NCAR via Bluebell-Baird and Mesa Trails.

* Alternatively we can track-back to Bear Canyon trail and out that way to save a little time and easier descent if necessary.
