  • Mileage: 10.1 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 3,400 ft
  • Pace: slow to moderate

We'll plan to meet at the S Mesa Trailhead at 630am, with a start shortly after. If your license plates show that you live in Boulder County the parking is free. If not, it is $5 and can be purchased prior (OSMP Parking Permits and Fees | City of Boulder (bouldercolorado.gov)). We'll likely end around noonish.

Weather is hit or miss this time of year. I'll send something out prior as we get closer.

The pace will be slow to moderate. Not looking to race up the mountains, more to enjoy the grind and the views from the top.

The hike is considered challenging. While the altitude isn't there, the length and elevation is. There is a very short portion of scramble type trail headed to Bear Peak, but it's easy and no exposure. There is a short, easy scramble section to the true top of Bear Peak, but it's optional.

For those interested, we can head to Southern Sun after (cash only).
