autozone in Montrose at 6am, drive to spring creek pass south of Lake City-approx a 2 hour drive from Montrose. Any from outlying areas can meet at spring creek pass trailhead at about 8:15am-there are restrooms and adequate parking here.

from spring creek pass take CDT approx 3miles east, then cross country to north to summit of baldy cinco.  Hike will have beautiful alpine tundra and great views of san juans.  Trails Illustrated 139.   Note: spring creek pass is about 17 miles south of Lake City on route 149--about 30min from Lake City.
