This is a complementary hike to the one that Norm Arlt is leading to the same area on the same day, at about the same time. The primary difference is this group will be going to the summit of Argentine Peak.

This hike to Argentine Peak begins on a well-marked trail that winds past the serene alpine waters of Silver Dollar Lake and Murray Lake. After soaking in the lakes' beauty, the route ventures off-trail, ascending through rugged terrain to reach the saddle between Argentine Peak and Mount Wilcox. From there, a ridge climb leads to the summit of Argentine Peak, where breathtaking panoramic views await. The return journey includes a hike along the scenic ridge that connects Argentine Peak to Square Top Mountain, offering stunning and exhilarating views to this high-altitude adventure. We'll descend and meet the trail above Silver Dollar lake and make our way back to the trailhead. We'll stop at/near the summit for lunch/snack. Our pace will be comfortable for all participants. Overall ~7.5 miles and ~2700 ft elevation gain. (Argentine Peak_Loop 1 - CalTopo)
