The trailhead for this hike is the 4th of July Trailhead, west of Nederland. Here’s a Google Maps link for the trailhead: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ctmdVqHia6fukUjC7 The last 4 or 5 miles to the trailhead is via a potholed dirt road, so the carpool drivers should have a decent ground clearance AWD or 4WD SUV or truck. The parking at this trailhead fills up quickly, hence the need to take the minimum number of vehicles and get an early start.
Meet at the parking lot at Plainview Rd and Coal Creek Canyon Rd (CO Hwy 72) at 6:20am, so we can form carpools and leave no later than 6:30am. For those coming from north of Arvada, we can also arrange to meet you at Nederland High School.
