If you can drive, be sure you have a State Wildlife Area Pass which you can now get with your vehicle registration or buy online. 

Bring your lunch and water (or water purifier). 


Bring along a variety of hopper and simulator patterns for a hopper-dropper setup.  While nymphing, use patterns in the #16-22 size range. Other choices to fish include steamers, eggs and larger attractor patterns like Pat’s Rubber Legs and the Guides Choice hares' ear can be successful when the water is off color and running high.


Current stream flow is around 83 cfs, based on the data for MIDDLE FORK SOUTH PLATTE AT SANTA MARIA.
