We will begin hiking from the Quandary Peak trailhead at 7:30am. (Don't be late!) Plan to arrive by 7:00am or before as the parking lot will likely fill up.
Directions:
From Breckenridge, drive 8 miles south on Colorado 9. Turn right (west) on the 850 (Blue Lakes) Road. Trailhead parking is on the right, just after you leave the highway.
Parking is limited at the Quandary Peak trailhead, especially for this Annual Winter Welcomer. If the parking lot is full, DO NOT park on the neighborhood roads as the Sheriff patrols this event and issues expensive tickets! Carpooling is highly recommended. If needed, park cars up at the top of Hoosier Pass and carpool/get a ride down to the TH.

Layering system to stay warm in winter temperatures and winds above treeline.
Do not bring a camelback type bladder system for your water, as the tube will freeze in the winter cold. Use Nalgene type bottles with insulators and consider boiling your water before you start the hike.
This year, snow shoes will not be needed. However, winter type boots are needed as well as gloves, hat, sunglasses/googles, and a strong desire to summit are needed!
Microspikes and an ice axe are always a good idea to have for winter hikes and climbs.
