A thrilling backpacking journey to Wheeler Geologic Area via the challenging Halfmoon Pass trail, immersing yourself in the rugged beauty of the La Garita Wilderness. Ascend through pine-clad slopes, conquering the pass to witness the surreal landscape of Wheeler Geologic Area. This is a 19.5 mile, 4,700 cumulative vertical feet, challenging trip.
