Leader's notes

The trail starts at the Horn Creek Trail Head at 9,100'.  It follows Rainbow Trail #1336 South for the first 3 miles gaining 1,235'.  It will then fork SW onto Macey Trail #1341 for approximately 4 miles gaining another 1,705'.  This is not a heavily used trail.  The trail may be rough.    Afternoon showers are common this time of year.

If you are sharing a tent please let me know.  We may be able to open up room for more to people to join us.

Pets are welcome, but be aware that this is a long, rough, hike.  Bring a leash, food, and first aid (consider booties).  Plan to bury, or carry out, poo.  Please take the weather into consideration.  Whereas I love backpacking and hiking with my dogs, if it's hot, or stormy, they stay home.  You are responsible for your pets safety.

There will be two meetup points

     (1) 6:30AM at the Pueblo City Park Pool, 221 S Parkside Ln, Pueblo, CO

     (2) at the Horn Creek Trail head (38.0486487, -105.5357623) at 8:00 am

There is parking and a vault toilet at the trailhead.
