Bike – Rocky Mountain Arsenal

Trip

Bike – Rocky Mountain Arsenal

We will ride the Perimeter Trail at Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge starting from the Gateway TH at the visitors center. This is a 22 mile, mostly gravel and dirt trail with only 400 vertical feet of climbing. This is non-technical trail, however, expect some sandy or muddy areas. Short section is 56th Avenue if new bike path along that is still not completed. There are restrooms at visitor's center next to starting trailhead. NO water along trail. With luck we will see some good wildlife including the Buffalo herd. After the trip we can drive the wildlife loop inside the fenced area (no bikes permitted on that) and walk the boardwalks, for those that want to stay.
