Bike – Northglenn, Platte River to Adams County Fairgrounds

This is a "Hare" bike ride from 104th and I-25 to the Platte River trail to the Adams Fairgrounds and return.

  • Pace: 10 - 13 mph

This ride is on paved trails and begins at the highest point with a downhill portion going towards the Platte River Trail where we will then be on a level path. We will travel North to Adams County Fair Grounds where we will turn around and return on the same route. The final portion of the return to the Meeting Place is uphill, however, we will take several breaks as needed by the group.

THIS TRIP IS FOR RMOTHG MEMBERS ONLY. Eligible guests (50 years of age and older) may be allowed with signing of an on-line waiver form (https://www.cmc.org/members-volunteers/join-cmc). Guests may participate in two of our activities before joining RMOTHG section and the Denver Group of CMC.

Please plan to arrive at the meeting place by 8:30am and be prepared to leave on the ride promptly at 9am.

Helmet - will not be allowed to ride without one.
Closed-Toe Shoes or other cycling-specific shoes/sandals
Clothing for changes in weather
Sufficient water and food for the length of the ride
Personal First Aid kit including identification and medical card
Flat tire repair kit with spare tube(s) to fit rider’s bike, inflation pump and/orCO2 cartridge(s) and knowledge of their use
Small tool kit to perform minor bike adjustments

Sunscreen, Sunglasses, Lip Balm
Smartphone for finding a route back to your car, also for emergency contact purposes
Consider wearing bright clothing, using front and rear strobe lights for improved visibility
