Basic Snowshoe – Davenport Campground Area-Squirrel Creek Trail

Snow hike, or snowshoe. We checked out Davenport Campground Road last weekend. At that time there wasn't enough snow for a snowshoe, but, there may be now. Come prepared for either. This is an in-and-out hike. No drop, we stay together. The hike from Hwy 165, along FSR 382 (Danvenport Campground Road) to Davenport Campground is 1.5 miles (3 miles round trip). Depending on the snow, and if the group is game (how deep the snow is, if the trail is broken, etc.), I'd like to take it further hiking Squirrel Creek (#1384). There is a stream crossing 1/4 mile down the trail. We will plan to turn around there. The hike can be found on CoTrex as Davenport Campground Road. https://trails.colorado.gov/routes/118253 We can snack, or have lunch at the campground. Well behaved, leash trained, dogs are welcome. Please plan for picking up after your dog and carrying the waste with you. An old peanut butter jar works well for this. Meetup: Pueblo City Park Swimming pool parking lot at 9AM. The parking lot is off of Pueblo Blvd. just north of Thatcher Ave., at 221 S. Parkside Ln, Pueblo, CO 81005
