Details:
Time to unwind and recharge with some fresh air. This will be a casually paced, overnight backpack covering approximately 3.5 miles. We will travel and take breaks as a group. The plan is to hike in and set up camp. Then, participants can decide to explore further along the Ute Creek Trail for additional mileage or rest in camp. This is an out-an-back trail so we will take the same trail out the next morning.
Meet Time: 1:00pm
Meet Location: Park and Ride in Woodland Park
Trail Descriptions:
The hike begins at the Ute Creek Trailhead (#629) and provides access to Bison Peak and McCurdy Mountain, as well as to several extended loops into the Lost Creek Wilderness, and provides a direct, although very steep and difficult, route to some of the high-country vistas found along the ridge between Bison Peak and McCurdy Park. We will hike in approximately 1.7 miles and set up camp. The elevation gain to camp is around 650 ft.
We will follow current CMC COVID Safety Protocols (https://www.cmc.org/COVID-19andCMCProgramming.aspx) and the Leave No Trace Principles (https://lnt.org/why/7-principles/) on this hike.
