Backpack – Wigwam Trail

Hike on a gentle wooded trail near Wigwam Creek and enjoy occasional views of the unusual geology of Lost Creek Wilderness.

Itinerary:
  • Day 1:  Hike on the Wigwam Trail (#609) along Wigwam creek and set up camp at around 2 miles in.  There are many nice flat campsites. (approx. 2 miles and 900 feet ascent)
  • Day 2:  Explore the area and hike on the Wigwam Trail, Goose Creek Trail and/or Rolling Creek Trail.  Possible hike (approx. 6 miles roundtrip and 1200 feet ascent)
  • Day 3:  Break camp and hike out (approx. 2 miles, 900’ descent, 50’ gain).

Possible second day hike with light pack

Driving Directions: Take US 285 over Kenosha Pass and turn right on CO Road 56\Lost Park Road and drive 20 miles to Lost Park Campground and Trailhead.
