We are meeting at the North Cottonwood Creek Trailhead at
9:30am.

From Colorado Springs, travel via Highway 24 to Buena Vista.
Then to Crossman Ave in Buena Vista, then Co Rd 350, Co Rd 365 and
Forest Rd 365 to the trailhead

We will meet at the trailhead sign at the end of the road/parking area.  Be sure to secure your vehicle and hide any valuables from sight.

** In light of the fire danger in Colorado and this high use area - we will NOT have a wood fire -- just our stoves with on/off controls **

  • Participants must bring their own backpack, shelter, sleeping bag/quilt, food and clothing appropriate for the weather conditions.
  • Stoves / water purification / trowel / rain fly / bear bag rope shared as group gear
  • Be sure to bring an appropriate food storage container (bear bag or canister). Food Storage in Bear Resistant Manner shall mean storage of food, refuse, and/or bear attractants inside a hard-sided vehicle or camper; inside an approved bear-resistant container; or suspended at least ten (10) feet above the ground and four (4) feet from any tree, post or other vertical support
