5:00am Arrival, carpool formation, and 5:15am departure. We'll need a large capacity vehicle to drop us off at the Waterton Canyon Trailhead as no overnight parking is allowed. We'll also need a driver to pick us up at the terminus of Segment 1 and return us to the CMC parking lot.

The early morning start is mandatory in order to avoid the hot weather that arrives by late-morning and early-afternoon. Plenty of water sources are available from the South Platte River. Effective primary and a back-up water purification method is required.
