To be determined by carpooling, participants on the trip. I would prefer to depart Denver by 6 AM Friday morning.
1) Mercedes will be the co-leader on this trip. We have led many trips in the past. We would like to trip to be equally balanced, co-ed
2) I find most people prefer backpacking in pleasant weather with minimum thunderstorms. I watch the weather closely and if it looks to be a significantly rainy two days before the trip, we either cancel or reschedule.
3) We would like to have experienced backpackers on the trip meaning you have backpack a similar trip in the last two years. To make sure this is a good fit for all please contact me if you have not been on one of my trips in the past, cell 303-912-8000.
4) We will zoom roughly one week prior to departure date.
5) This trip is for adults, 21 years of age or older.
6) FYI, No dogs are allowed on the trail, RMNP rules.
7) We might stop in Lyons on the way home for lunch.
8) Thursday we will hike in 3.6 miles to set up base camp at Andrews Creek campsite. Friday morning if weather conditions allow we will hike up to Sky Pond, Glass Lake for amazing views and anyone interested in fly fishing.
9) Saturday: 10:30am we will pack up and hike out around.
10) If someone has fly fishing in the past and need a refresher I can help.
11) It is OK for everyone to bring their own tent. Enough room at the campsite.

Required Equipment

- Navigation: map, compass, altimeter, GPS device, personal locator beacon (PLB) or satellite messenger
- Headlamp: plus extra batteries
- Sun protection: sunglasses, sun-protective clothes and sunscreen
- First aid including foot care and insect repellent (as needed)
- Knife plus a gear repair kit
- Fire matches, lighter, tinder and/or stove
- Shelter carried at all times (can be a light emergency bivy)
