Backcountry Nordic Skiing – Grand Mesa

This is a ski or snowshoe on both groomed and un-groomed terrain around The Grand Mesa Lodge. We will stay in three cabins at the lodge and friendly dogs are welcome. There is plenty of room to ski and snowshoe around the lodge, including a downhill ski resort, a groomed Nordic center, and county roads. All skill levels are welcome. There is a $165.50 non-refundable fee to reserve your spot. The remainder will be based on final number of participants. Avalanche terrain will be avoided on this trip, however we will perform some beacon search practice. Group cooking and cleaning will be planned at a required pre trip meeting to be held on Wed, 18 Jan. This trip is primarily intended for Pikes Peak and Pueblo Group members. All others will be waitlisted. Nat Geo Map 136. 20/1,250. 550mi. Register with leader. Eric Hunter ehuntercmc@gmail.com or (719) 266-9647.
