Ascending Hikes – Reynolds Park
A scenic loop route that rewards us with an amazing overlook, Eagle's Nest, with views into Pike National Forest and the Lost Creek Wilderness. We'll spend some time at the Eagle's Nest overlook, having some fun identifying the peaks we see to our South and West. We'll also keep a look out for eagles flying overhead.

We'll be hiking a loop around Reynolds Ranch Park starting from the Reynolds Ranch Tralhead, making our way up the Raven's Roost Trail to the intersection with the Eagle's Nest Trail. We'll follow the Eagle's Nest Trail to the overloop where we'll stop and admire the amazing view. (Extra credit to the group members that can correctly identify the most peaks. We can also use this viewpoint to plan some future hikes to those peaks.) This will also be our lunch/snack spot. We'll continue our loop route along the Eagle's Nest Trail to the Oxen Draw Trail where we'll descend along a small creek. The finish will include a section of the Elkhorn Loop Trail. Our pace will be determined by the strength, stamina, and endurance of the group. (Reynolds Park - Eagle's View - CalTopo)
Leave No Trace: Our group will practice the Leave No Trace Principles on this hike. (Leave No Trace Leave No Trace - Home - Leave No Trace (lnt.org))
